After months of building, breaking, and rebuilding, Wevlix is live.
Wevlix is a transparent, developer-first WhatsApp OTP and verification API built on Meta's WhatsApp Business Cloud API. It's the platform we wished existed when we were customers of every other verification provider.
This post tells the story: why we built it, what's in v1, and where we're going next.
Why Wevlix exists
We've been in the WhatsApp messaging space for years, first running an unofficial delivery service that grew to serve thousands of MENA businesses. It worked, but unofficial routing capped what we could honestly promise on uptime, compliance, and pricing.
So we rebuilt everything from scratch on Meta's official Cloud API. Same team, new foundations.
Most OTP providers we tried had three problems in common:
- Opaque pricing. Tiered plans, markup fees buried in the small print, and per-region rates that changed without notice.
- Ticket-based support.When something broke at 2 AM, the answer was always "file a ticket and wait."
- Multi-channel sprawl. Platforms built for SMS, voice, email, and TOTP all at once: overkill for teams that just need WhatsApp.
We wanted simpler. We built simpler.
What's in v1
Wevlix v1 ships with:
- A clean WhatsApp OTP API with three endpoints: send, verify, status
- A live pricing calculator covering 182 countries across 5 volume tiers
- A prepaid wallet with $0.50 free trial credit on signup
- Test/Live mode separation with magic phone numbers for free testing
- Built-in anti-OTP-pumping protection (per phone, IP, and prefix)
- Direct WhatsApp support: no tickets, no queues
Pricing is the per-message rate from Meta plus a small, transparent service fee. You only pay for messages that actually deliver, not for failed sends, not for retries, not for anything that didn't reach a real person.
Our pricing philosophy
We charge per delivered message, not per send. We don't add markup beyond a small, visible service fee. There are no monthly minimums, no contracts, no surprise invoices.
Why? Because we'd rather have you stay because the product is good, not because you're locked in.
What's next
The roadmap is short and focused:
- Telegram OTP as a fallback channel
- SMS and Email fallback for users without WhatsApp
- Smart routing that picks the cheapest reliable channel per message
- Webhooks for delivery events and status changes
- A public status page with real-time uptime metrics
